Deduplicate Customer Database

If you have numerous files for the same customer, we have a deduplication process that will clean and merge the customer files.


The deduplication process looks for matches on the three following fields:


  • Firstname (first two characters)
  • Surname
  • Email OR Postcode¹


¹ Under Settings - Customers, if you have checked the box to "Capture a contact address (online bookings)" the deduplication will work using the Initial, Surname and Postcode. However, if you do not have this option to capture selected the deduplication will require an email address in order to be available for deduplication.


To undertake deduplication:


  1. Go to Customer and select Deduplicate Customers.
  2. Duplicate customer files will be displayed.
  3. Untick any customers that you do not want to merge.
  4. Click on Deduplicate Selected Customers.


Merged customer records will utilise the contact information from the most recent customer record.
