Discounts
1. How to create discount codes
You can add and manage discount codes within your TicketSource dashboard. To qualify for the discount, customers are prompted to enter a valid discount code when booking.
Discount codes can be set up to provide a monetary amount or percentage discount per ticket or booking. You can limit the number of times a discount code can be used (e.g. single-use - only one customer would ever be able to use the discount code). Discount codes can be hidden from the public so that they cannot be used by customers booking online, but you can apply them on your in-house bookings.
To Setup a Discount Code:****
- Go to Settings and Discount Codes.
- Click the add discount code button.
- In the Discount Code box, provide your discount code name (this is the discount code that your customers will need to enter when booking to benefit from the discount).
- Below the Discount Code box, tick the boxes to link your discount code to the eligible events/event dates.
- Add your discount amount (you can choose monetary or percentage and apply to either each ticket or the whole booking).
- If required, set a valid from and/or expiry date for your discount code (e.g. for Early Bird offers).
- Specify whether the discount code can be used an unlimited or restricted number of times.
- Choose whether the discount code should be available to all bookings or in-house bookings only.
- Click save changes to apply your settings.
The discount codes feature also facilitates importing your own discount codes, which is useful if you have a batch of discount codes that you would like to quickly add to your TicketSource account. An autogenerate option also enables you to create a batch of discount codes based on the criteria that you provide e.g. length of discount code and any common prefix or postfix characters.
2. How to Create Automatic Discounts
Automatic discounts offer a rules based discount offer. When the customer qualifies for the discount the system automatically applies the discount before checkout.
- Go to Settings and select Automatic Discounts.
- Click the Add Automatic Discount.
- Provide a discount description (e.g. 'buy three tickets for the price of 2' or 'buy ten tickets get 2.00 off per ticket').
- Select the event/event dates that the automatic discount rule will apply.
- If required, set a valid/expiry date.
- State the booking condition (hover over the i icon for further information).
- State the action (e.g. 50% discount, one free ticket).
- Click Save Changes.
We advise you to test the automatic discount rules via your back office by processing multiple bookings. When you have booked a sufficient number of tickets/events, the discount will be applied to your booking, which will be displayed on the summary page before address details/payment is taken. Once you have viewed the discount, cancel the booking, and if required, you can go back to your Automatic Discount Settings to adjust as required.
For example, if you have several discount rules created for group bookings, they would need to be listed in the following order:
- Buy 30 tickets, and get 3 free
- Buy 20 tickets, and get 2 free
- Buy 10 tickets, and get 1 free
In this example, the system will work its way down the list until it finds a rule that fits the number of tickets purchased.
3. How to create group/family discount
To create a Group or Family ticket:
- In the Price Categories column, select Add New Price Category.
- Add the title of the ticket (e.g. Family or Group ticket).
- State the price of the Group Ticket.
- Add a description in the comments box - this will provide the customer with information about the group ticket (e.g. tickets admit four people).
- Tick the Group Ticket option and enter how many tickets the ticket will admit.
- Click Save Changes.
