Access Card Integration

Available for UK event organisers

1. Getting Started
2. Assign your Access Card price category
3. Customer Booking Process

Overview

The Access Card, powered by Nimbus Operation System (NOS) and Nimbus Disability, is designed to simplify the way disabled people communicate their access requirements. Rather than repeatedly explaining or evidencing their needs, cardholders receive recognised symbols that represent the support they require.

The integration works alongside the Access Card Scheme and requires your organisation to become a partnered business with Nimbus Disability. This enables customers who do not already have an Access Card to apply FREE of charge for a branded Digital Access Pass (DAP), ensuring that everyone can access your booking process.

The Access Card team reviews any supporting documentation, assigns the relevant access symbols, and issues the customer with a unique ID number that can be used to access your venue's facilities and online booking integration.

Customers who have been assessed as eligible for an Essential Companion (+1) can enter their Access Card or Digital Access Pass (DAP) ID number during the Ticket Source booking journey.

The integration verifies their eligibility and unlocks the Essential Companion ticket, allowing them to complete their booking online.

For further information about the Access Card, please visit the Access Card Website. If you are interested in using the integration and would like to find out about partnering with Nimbus so that this feature can be made available to your customers, email The Nimbus Partnerships Team at [email protected] and advise that you are a TicketSource user.

1. Getting Started

If you haven't partnered with Nimbus Disability already, you will first need to contact their partnerships team to explore this as an option. You can use the email [email protected]. You can also register for an account to access their online provider portal, via the Access Card Business Registration page

Signing up to their NOS Portal (Nimbus Operating System) is one of the first steps in their partner onboarding process.

Validate your API Key

  1. You will need to request your Access Card API key from Nimbus Disability. If you are already partnered, you can request the API key within your NOS account. For those currently onboarding, the API key will be made available to request, during this process. Please email [email protected] if you need any further information.
  2. Within your TicketSource account go to Account and select Integrations
  3. Within the Access Card section, Enable Access Card Validation
  4. Enter your Nimbus Operating System account API Key
  5. Enter your Digital Access Pass application form URL supplied by Nimbus
  6. Click save changes

2. Assign your Access Card price category

Price categories that require verification (such as complimentary companion tickets) will need a specific setting applied.

  1. Go to Events and select Modify Event
  2. Select the relevant event and click modify
  3. Under the relevant Price Category, click the edit/pencil Icon
  4. Expand Advanced Settings and enable Price category requires Access Card validation
  5. Click save changes

The TicketSource integration specifically checks the Access Card database for the Essential Companion disability type only.

3. Customer Booking Process

When a customer selects your designated Access Card price category, the system handles the validation seamlessly:

  • Validation: Customers will be prompted to enter their Access Card or Digital Access Pass details (ID Number, First Name, and Last Name).
  • Companion Limits: The system automatically checks if the customer is entitled to +1 or +2 companions and restricts their ticket selection accordingly.
  • Use Limits: TicketSource limits the use of an individual Access Card or Digital Access Pass to one use per performance to prevent duplicate or subsequent bookings for the same show.
  • Multiple Cards: Customers can use multiple unique Access Cards or Digital Access Pass within a single transaction, but the same card cannot be used more than once in that transaction.
  • Front of House Reporting: Validated Access Card details are automatically populated into the booking notes, making them easily accessible on your Front of House Report.
