1. What is Google Analytics?
Google Analytics lets you track visitors and see which email campaigns or link referrals work best to promote your event.
To add Google Analytics to your TicketSource account, you must sign up for a Google Analytics account.
2. How to connect your TicketSource account to Google Analytics
Before you start, you'll need to find your Google Analytics Measurement ID, which begins with "G-", via your Google Analytics account.
Step 1: Connecting your account
- In your TicketSource account, go to Settings and Analytics and Tracking.
- Tick to enable Google Analytics tracking on booking pages.
- Enter your Google Analytics Measurement ID.
- Click save changes.
Step 2: Cross-domain tracking
To prevent Google Analytics from creating a new tracking session when passing from your website to the TicketSource website i.e. to maintain a single seamless tracking session between your website and the TicketSource website, you must add the ticketsource domain to the domain list in your Google Analytics 4 property data stream settings.
You can follow instructions on how to do this via Google's help pages.
Reports will begin to appear for three URL paths on the Analytics reports for your own website:
- Views for your event listings will register on your public sales URL e.g www.ticketsource.co.uk/your-company-name
- Views for an event run will appear under event links ending in e-xxxxxx
- Views for a specific event will appear under event links ending in t-xxxxxx
3. Does TicketSource support integration with Google Tag Manager?
Currently, TicketSource does not support Google Tag Manager (GTM) due to the potential to expose the TicketSource domain to vulnerabilities from unverified code, making it impractical to grant this level of access to Event Creators.
Furthermore, there is a legal obligation for TicketSource to transparently display all cookies processed within its website. Integrating Google Tag Manager, which interfaces with various third-party applications, would impede TicketSource's ability to accurately track and present the necessary cookie consent information.
